Gulliver Park, Valencia

Gulliver Park, Valencia

Located in the eastern part of the Turia Gardens near the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia, lies Gulliver Park. Its main highlight is a monumental 70-meter sculpture of Gulliver, which can be explored through ramps, slides, stairs, and more.

Gulliver's Park vividly portrays the moment when Gulliver arrives in the fictional country of Lilliput, where the inhabitants are incredibly tiny. In this scene, the Lilliputians mistakenly bind Gulliver, fearing an attack from the colossal giant.

The sculpture is crafted on a scale that allows park visitors to feel like the inhabitants of Lilliput as they walk upon Gulliver's body. This impressive creation is inspired by the renowned work of Anglo-Irish author Jonathan Swift.

In 1990, the Valencia City Council commissioned architect Rafael Rivera and artist Manolo Martín, with a design by Sento Llobell, to bring this enchanting park to life.

Beyond being a delightful children's area, Gulliver's Park attracts numerous tourists daily, including many from outside Valencia. The park features abundant vegetation, a variety of games for the little ones, mini golf and skateboard tracks, a bar, and two giant chess tables. Enclosed within a vast circular area of 15,000 square meters, the park's centerpiece, Gulliver, stands tall, lending its name to this section.

Moreover, this park serves a crucial function within the Turia Gardens—it facilitates rainwater drainage. Undoubtedly, Gulliver Park stands as one of Valencia's most remarkable attractions, offering visitors a truly unforgettable experience.
