Henry Rolfs' Bronze Memorial Sculpture, West Palm Beach

Henry Rolfs' Bronze Memorial Sculpture, West Palm Beach

Henry Rolfs Bronze Memorial Sculpture honors one of West Palm Beach’s most influential visionaries. Created by artist Marsha Montoya Meyer and unveiled in 1994, the 15-foot bronze statue commemorates Henry J. Rolfs, Sr., a man remembered for his bold dreams and deep commitment to shaping a better future for his city. The sculpture greets visitors arriving downtown with a powerful tribute, accompanied by a plaque that describes Rolfs as someone who "dared to dream boldly and sustained the courage to turn his dreams into reality."

Rolfs, along with business partner David Paladino, played a pivotal role in consolidating 77 acres of land that would later become the foundation for City Place (now The Square), the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, and the Palm Beach County Convention Center. Although economic challenges in the late 1980s and early 1990s prevented them from completing their development plans, their efforts laid the groundwork for West Palm Beach’s cultural and commercial renaissance.
