Lauritzen Gardens sprawls over 100 acres, offering a serene escape and an opportunity to delve into the marvels of nature. Established in 1982 after meticulous planning, Lauritzen Gardens has continuously evolved. Early developments included the construction of the rose garden in 1995, alongside other thematic gardens such as the shade hosta garden, herb garden, children's garden, and spring flowering walk. The 4-acre arboretum, representing seven distinct regional plant communities, serves as a testament to the rich biodiversity of the area, encompassing prairie, savannah, oak hickory forest, and more.

Over the years, Lauritzen Gardens has expanded its offerings, introducing new garden areas annually. From the vibrant festival garden, hosting various annual events, to the tranquil Song of the Lark Meadow adorned with native wildflowers, each space offers a unique experience. The woodland trail, featuring hilltop overlooks, and the Garden in the Glen, complete with streams and waterfalls, provide immersive encounters with nature.
