Long Bridge Park, Arlington

Long Bridge Park, spanning over 36 acres, offers a mix of green spaces and sports facilities, including the new Long Bridge Aquatics & Fitness Center. The park features three full-size, lighted synthetic fields, walkways, and an overlook with views of national monuments. It also has a rain garden that manages runoff and supports native plants. Marymount University partially funded Boeing Field #1, which serves as a home field for their soccer and lacrosse teams.

The park's nearly ¾-mile Esplanade offers views of the Potomac River and is popular for watching trains, planes, and birds. It also includes a walking loop with outdoor fitness stations. For younger visitors, there are playgrounds for ages 2-5 and 5-12, with a unique interactive fog area.

Three public art installations by Doug Hollis add to the park's appeal. "Wave Arbor" consists of two structures with kinetic elements that move with the wind, and "Sky Column" features a 50-foot stainless steel column that blends with the sky. At night, lights highlight these artworks, responding to wind patterns. The park received the Best New Facility Award from the Virginia Recreation and Park Society in 2012.
