Masjid At-Taqwa (At-Taqwa Mosque), Denpasar

Masjid At-Taqwa, also known as At-Taqwa Mosque, is one of the notable Muslim places of worship in Bali’s capital area. In a setting better known for Balinese Hindu temples, shrines, and ceremonial architecture, the mosque adds another layer to the local religious landscape. Its position near an important police complex gives it a distinct character, with police officers and civilians often praying side by side.

During major Islamic holidays, Balinese Hindu pecalang may work with police to manage crowds, reflecting Bhineka Tunggal Ika, or “Unity in Diversity.” Visitors should dress modestly and behave respectfully around prayer times.
