Muneharu Zone of Kinshachi Yokocho Gourmet Town, Nagoya

The Muneharu Zone of Kinshachi Yokocho Gourmet Town offers a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Japanese dining district. Named after Tokugawa Muneharu, the seventh lord of the Owari Domain, the zone brings together restaurants offering creative dishes, contemporary interpretations of regional cuisine, and a variety of drinks and desserts.

Architecturally, the Muneharu Zone differs noticeably from the more traditional Yoshinao Zone near the castle’s Main Gate. Its buildings combine modern Japanese design with large glass windows, creating bright, open interiors. Because the Muneharu Zone remains open later than the Yoshinao Zone, it is particularly suitable for an evening meal after visiting the castle. The illuminated buildings, nearby stone walls, and seasonal views create an attractive nighttime setting.

The Muneharu Zone occasionally hosts seasonal art installations and cultural events. Past exhibitions have included illuminated lamps made from traditional Mino washi paper, whose soft glow created an atmospheric setting after dark. As these displays are temporary, visitors should check the current event schedule before their visit.
