Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, Annapolis

Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium is the main outdoor sports venue used by the United States Naval Academy. It opened in 1959 to replace an older field that had become too small for spectators. The stadium honors members of the United States Navy and Marine Corps and holds more than 34,000 people.

The stadium is best known as the home field of the Navy Midshipmen football team, which plays in the American Athletic Conference of NCAA Division I. Football games bring together midshipmen, alumni, and visitors during the fall season. One of the best-known traditions happens before home games, when the Brigade of Midshipmen marches into the stadium in formation as part of the pre-game ceremony.

The stadium has an open-bowl design that gives most seats a clear view of the field. It has been renovated over the years to improve seating, lighting, and other facilities. Memorial plaques around the stadium honor naval units and individuals who served in different wars. The venue also hosts lacrosse games, concerts, and community events, and the surrounding parking areas are often used for festivals and charity runs.
