Parque da Jaqueira (Jaqueira Park), Recife

Parque da Jaqueira (Jaqueira Park), Recife

Tucked away in the Jaqueira neighborhood of the northern zone, you'll find Jaqueira Park, a serene retreat in the midst of urban life. Spanning around 70,000 square meters, this park is the third largest in the city and has a rich history dating back to the 18th century.

Originally part of a large farm owned by a local merchant, the land was later transformed into the park we see today. The park is home to the historic Our Lady of Barriers chapel, a stunning example of Portuguese Baroque architecture, and features a landscape design donated by the famous Brazilian landscaper Burle Marx.

Jaqueira Park is popular among locals and visitors alike for its extensive facilities, including a jogging track, bike path, BMX track, and skating rink. It's a great place for families, with large play areas for kids and plenty of spots to relax. The park is also known for its lush greenery, with fruit trees like mango, pitanga, and, of course, jackfruit.
