Port Grand, Karachi

Port Grand is a waterfront food and entertainment complex developed beside the historic Native Jetty Bridge, also known as the Napier Mole Bridge. Formally opened on May 28, 2011, it was created through cooperation between the Karachi Port Trust and Grand Leisure Corporation. The project adapted part of the old bridge and adjoining port land into a pedestrian recreation area. The developed complex occupies approximately 1,000 feet of the bridge and covers about 200,000 square feet.

The promenade contains restaurants, food stalls, cafés, kiosks, and shops offering Pakistani dishes, street food, desserts, and international dining options. Paved walkways, seating areas, decorative lighting, fountains, and harbour views make the complex particularly active during evening hours. Port Grand also hosts live music, cultural performances, food events, craft stalls, seasonal celebrations, and family entertainment, although individual businesses and programs change over time. The waterfront setting provides outdoor spaces where visitors can combine dining with views across the surrounding waterways. Port Grand also gives a contemporary function to a site connected with the historical development of the harbour. The Native Jetty Bridge was constructed during the 19th century as part of the route connecting the growing commercial settlement with the port and Keamari. From the promenade, visitors can observe parts of the working harbour, port infrastructure, railway activity, and vessels, depending on current access and operations.

The surviving bridge structure provides a historical backdrop for the restaurants, illuminated walkways, public events, and recreational spaces that now occupy this section of the waterfront.
