Titanik Gallery, Turku

The Titanik Gallery, located on the picturesque banks of the Aura River in Turku, is a vibrant space dedicated to contemporary art. Founded in February 1988 by the Artists' Association Arte, Titanik has grown into the largest contemporary art gallery in the city and a well-known platform for emerging and unconventional art. Its exhibitions are curated by a committee of professional artists and are selected based on an annual open call. Since 2010, the gallery has embraced thematic exhibitions, which shift every two years, bringing a focused yet evolving narrative to the space.

Beyond exhibitions, Titanik is a hub for artistic experimentation, fostering a dialogue between art and society. It frequently hosts public events such as performances, concerts, and offsite activities in Turku's urban spaces. Titanik also supports international artists through its residency program, with a particular emphasis on sound art and new media projects, particularly through its SUMU residency, which has been active since 2006.
