Tohono Chul Park, Tucson
Tohono Chul Park is a beautiful botanical garden and nature preserve located in the heart of Tucson, Arizona. The park covers over 49 acres and is dedicated to preserving the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the Sonoran Desert region. It was established in 1985 by the Tohono O'odham Nation and a group of local conservationists who wanted to create a place where people could come to learn about the unique plants, animals, and cultures of the desert Southwest.
At Tohono Chul Park, visitors can explore a variety of habitats, from the shady, riparian areas along the park's creek to the cactus-studded uplands of the surrounding desert. The park is home to a wide range of plants and animals, including over 350 species of cacti, succulents, and other desert plants, as well as a variety of birds, butterflies, and other wildlife.
