Tokyo Big Sight, also officially known as Tokyo International Exhibition Center, stands as a prominent convention and exhibition facility, and it holds the distinction of being the largest of its kind in Japan. It was inaugurated in April 1996 and is strategically positioned in the Ariake Minami area of Tokyo Waterfront City, overlooking the picturesque Tokyo Bay waterfront. One of its most striking features is the visually distinct Conference Tower. The venue's construction incorporates a combination of steel framing and reinforced concrete, encompassing a substantial total floor area spanning 230,873 square meters (equivalent to 2,485,100 square feet).

The convention center is thoughtfully divided into three main segments, each equipped with its own selection of restaurants and supporting amenities: The East Exhibition Hall, the West Exhibition Hall, and the Conference Tower. Interestingly, the name "Tokyo Big Sight" in Japanese eventually became its official title, and in April 2003, it also became the name of the operating entity.

Notably, Tokyo Big Sight was initially designated as a venue for the 2020 Summer Olympics, intended to host wrestling, fencing, and taekwondo events. However, due to constraints on public funds, the organizing committee was compelled to seek alternative locations for these competitions. Consequently, Tokyo Big Sight played a pivotal role as the primary hub for broadcasting and the press center during the Games.
