Tower Bridge Exhibition, London

The elevated outdoor passages connecting the towers garnered an unfavorable reputation for being frequented by prostitutes and thieves. Due to their limited accessibility via stairs and minimal use by ordinary pedestrians, these walkways were shut down in 1910. Fast forward to 1982, when these walkways were reopened as part of the Tower Bridge Exhibition, a showcase situated within the bridge's twin towers, the high-level walkways, and the Victorian engine rooms. There is now an admission fee for this exhibition, which features films, photographs, and interactive displays providing insights into the construction of the Tower Bridge, including the reasons behind its construction and the methods employed. Additionally, visitors have the opportunity to explore the original steam engines that once operated the bridge's bascules, which are housed in a building near the southern end of the bridge.
