Villa Mosconi Bertani, Verona

Villa Mosconi Bertani, Verona

The Villa Mosconi Bertani, also referred to as Villa Novare, is a Neoclassical estate and manor located in the Veneto region of Italy, renowned for its significant role in the production of Amarone della Valpolicella wine. Situated in the municipality of Negrar di Valpolicella, specifically in the Novare area within the province of Verona, this estate holds a unique distinction as the only Veronese property dating back to the early 18th century purposefully designed for winemaking.

Comprising a grand residence, a spacious cellar, and a sizable orchard spanning fifty-four acres, Villa Mosconi Bertani also bears historical significance as a hub of Romanticism, notably thanks to the renowned Italian poet and writer Ippolito Pindemonte. Moreover, it is recognized as the birthplace of Amarone wine. This complex is officially recognized and safeguarded as a historical landmark by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities in Italy.

The villa, its surrounding park, and the winery are accessible to the public, offering guided tours, hosting cultural events, and accommodating private gatherings. Today, Villa Mosconi Bertani serves as the primary winery for Tenuta Santa Maria, owned by the Bertani family.
