Canonical Museum, Verona

The Canonical Museum of Verona can be found within the Romanesque cloister of the city's Cathedral. This location surrounds the remnants of two ancient early Christian basilicas dating back to the 4th and 5th centuries AD. The mosaic floors of these basilicas are still visible beneath the cloister and Saint Elena's church.

The items showcased in the museum come from archaeological excavations carried out in the vicinity of the cloister's buildings, as well as significant contributions made by the Cathedral's canons and private individuals.

The museum's basement rooms display an archaeological collection that offers a glimpse into the past. Inside the Canonical Museum, you'll encounter exquisite examples of sacred fine art, including paintings, sculptures, religious vestments, and various sacred objects spanning different eras.
