Acuario Inbursa, Mexico City

The Inbursa Aquarium (Acuario Inbursa) is a world-class aquarium located in Mexico City. It is one of the most impressive and modern aquatic centers in Latin America and is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike.

Opened to the public on June 11, 2014, Inbursa Aquarium was created by the renowned Mexican businessman Carlos Slim Helú. The aquarium is part of the Plaza Carso complex, an upscale shopping and entertainment center in the Polanco neighborhood of Mexico City. The architectural design of Inbursa Aquarium is a striking sight in itself. The building's exterior features a sleek, futuristic style, with a shiny aluminum and glass façade that stands out in the cityscape.

The aquarium covers an area of approximately 6,000 square meters (64,583 square feet) and boasts more than 230 exhibition tanks, which house a vast and diverse collection of marine life from various regions of the world. Visitors can explore a wide array of aquatic ecosystems, from coral reefs and tropical oceans to arctic and freshwater environments.

Inbursa Aquarium is home to over 5,000 marine species, totaling around 230 species. These include vibrant fish, sea turtles, jellyfish, seahorses, rays, sharks, and even crocodiles. One of the main highlights of the aquarium is the gigantic ocean tank, which holds around 1.6 million liters (approximately 422,000 gallons) of water and houses various large marine species like sharks and rays. The impressive tunnel within this tank allows visitors to experience an immersive and breathtaking walk-through experience, providing a unique perspective of the marine life swimming above them.
