The India Fountain (Fuente de la India), located in Havana, is a significant monument that pays homage to the Indian woman "Habana," who is believed to have inspired the city's name. This white marble fountain, crafted in 1837 by the Italian sculptor Giuseppe Gaggini, was imported from Italy and stands as a testament to intricate artistry and cultural representation. Perched atop a rectangular pedestal, the fountain features four dolphins at each corner, their tongues serving as water dispensers into large shells at the base, merging utility with aesthetic appeal.
