Hong Kong Visual Arts Center, Hong Kong

Situated in Hong Kong Park, the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre resides within the historic Cassels Block. Originally constructed in the early 1900s as an extension of the British Army's Victoria Barracks, the block served as accommodation for married officers. In 1985, the government assumed control of the barracks, incorporating them into the Hong Kong Park initiative. During the conversion of Cassels Block into the Visual Arts Centre, a new wing featuring a glass canopy was added. The Centre officially opened its doors in 1992.

The Visual Arts Centre is an inclusive hub for the arts, with a strong focus on art education, research, and collaboration. It is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and features exhibition spaces that radiate a vibrant and creative ambiance. Within the center, you'll find nine working studios, an exhibition hall, a lecture theater, and two seminar rooms. It is home to a wide array of contemporary artworks and sculptures, offering visitors an enjoyable and enriching experience.

Additionally, the Visual Arts Centre extends invitations to artists to engage in cross-disciplinary art experiments, embracing the potential of technology and knowledge from various fields to shape innovative art projects. From digital creations to site-specific and multimedia installations, the Centre strives to explore new artistic directions.
