Jagannath Temple, Hyderabad

Jagannath Temple, Hyderabad

The Jagannath Temple serves as a place of worship and aims to inspire divine thoughts in its visitors. This temple adheres strictly to principles of sanctity, equity, discipline, and cleanliness. Opened in March 2009, it closely resembles the famous Puri Jagannath Temple.

The idea for this temple was proposed in 1992 by a small group of Odias devoted to Lord Jagannath, seen as the highest expression of God and cosmic energy. After years of rituals and prayers, construction began in 2004, seemingly guided by divine intervention. Over 100 workers dedicated five years to building the temple, including shrines for Lord Ganesh, Anjaneya Swamy, Maa Vimala, Maa Laxmi, Lord Shiva, and Nabagrah.

Architecturally, the temple is a marvel, featuring intricate stone carvings and sculptures. The main temple includes the Garbha Gruha, Jagan Mohan, dancing hall, and offering enclave, while the subsidiary shrines are equally impressive. The boundary wall murals depict the history of the Puri Jagannath temple, the Dasha Avatar, and various divine myths, providing an educational and enlightening experience. At night, the temple’s lighting adds to its spectacular appearance.
