Hare Krishna Golden Temple, Hyderabad

Hare Krishna Golden Temple, Hyderabad

Hare Krishna Golden Temple is located in Banjara Hills. It is the first Golden Temple built in Telangana, inaugurated in 2018 by the Vice President of India, Sri Venkaiah Naidu. Around 7000 years ago, Lord Swayambhu Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy manifested himself at Road No. 12, Banjara Hills. Lord Shiva also self-manifested here as Swayambhu Sri Panchajanyeshwara Swamy.

The temple features a 50-foot Golden Dhwaja Stambh (flagstaff), a 4600 square foot Maha Mandapam, and a five-golden-stairs Rajagopuram. Inside, the murtis (sacred images) of Lord Narasimhadev and his consort, Lakshmi, are enshrined. The temple also has a Harinam Japa Mantapa located right after the Dhvaja Stambha, offering a unique way to remember and glorify Lord Krishna by chanting His holy names while proceeding for His darshan. Visitors can either go through the Harinam Mantapa or proceed directly for the darshan of Lord Shri Lakshmi Narasimha. The Japa Mantapa has 108 steps, with devotees chanting the Hare Krishna maha-mantra on each step.

A rare Shaligram shila, found in the Gandaki River near Muktinath Temple in Nepal, is kept in the Garbhalayam of the presiding deity Swayambhu Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy.
