Saturn Tower, Vienna

The Saturn Tower stands tall as an office skyscraper in Vienna's 22nd district, Donaustadt. It was constructed between 2003 and 2004 in the Donau City neighborhood, based on architectural plans by Heinz Neumann and Hans Hollein. Similar to other structures in Donau City, it draws its name from a mythological figure, specifically the Roman god Saturnus.

This approximately 90-meter-high building occupies the northwestern corner of Donau City, right next to the Mischek Tower. The property development was overseen by WED Wiener Development Company for the Donauraum AG, and the ownership belongs to GENO Saturn Tower/T-Center Immobilien Beteiligungsholding GmbH & Co. KG.

The building's design is characterized by its square shape, which cleverly breaks from its rectangular layout to harmonize with its role as the northeastern boundary of the district. It features an intriguing combination of cut and cantilevered elements within its primary structure.

The main entrance is located on the southeastern side, thoughtfully sheltered from the wind. A linearly structured canopy directs access from the northwest. The ground floor connects to the pedestrian level of the Donau-City, which sits five levels below street level, and a ramp links this lower traffic level to the ground floor.

The Saturn Tower soars to 89 meters over 20 floors, with a skylobby on the 21st floor, crowned by an imposing roof that adds a distinctive silhouette to this meticulously designed building.
