Tech Gate, Vienna
Tech Gate is a science and technology hub located in Vienna, specifically in the Donaustadt district, which falls under the 22nd administrative area. The construction of this facility took place between 1999 and 2005, based on the architectural designs of Wilhelm Holzbauer and Sepp Frank. It is part of an urban zone known as Donau City.
Tech Gate Vienna comprises two primary buildings. The first structure, completed in 2001, stands at a height of 26 meters and spans 7 floors, offering a total floor space of 36,000 square meters. The second building, constructed between 2004 and 2005, is considerably taller, soaring to 75 meters in height and encompassing 19 floors with a floor area of 18,000 square meters.
In addition to hosting numerous companies and start-ups, Tech Gate Vienna houses various technology laboratories. These include notable institutions such as the Austrian Institute of Technology, the Telecommunications Research Center Vienna (FTW), and the VRVis Research Center. Furthermore, the facility features four appealing stages that are employed for hosting a diverse range of technology-oriented events.
