Andromeda Tower (Andromeda Turm), Vienna

The Andromeda Tower stands tall as a prominent office skyscraper nestled in Vienna's 22nd district, known as Donaustadt. Its construction spanned the years from 1996 to 1998, following the architectural vision of Wilhelm Holzbauer. This building holds the distinction of being the inaugural structure in the emerging Donau City district. Its moniker, "Andromeda," draws inspiration from the Greek mythological character of the same name.

WED Vienna Development Company for the Danube Region AG took on the role of property developer, overseeing the construction process. Upon completion, the Andromeda Tower changed hands, with reports indicating a sale to Karl Wlaschek, the founder of Billa, for a sum of 57 million euros. The tower's ground floors host an array of shops, service providers, and restaurants, while the upper floors are dedicated to office spaces. Notable tenants encompass the permanent representations of Japan and Austria to international organizations, the tech company Unisys, ATB AG, and General Electric.

In terms of dimensions, the Andromeda Tower boasts an impressive floor area spanning 34,450 square meters, distributed across 29 floors. Its roof reaches a height of 103.5 meters, with the antennas extending that measurement to 113 meters. Consequently, it ranks among the tallest edifices gracing the Vienna skyline.
