20 Fun Facts About Armenia to Know Before You Go, Yerevan, Armenia (B)

I cannot believe it has been almost one month since our Armenian adventure. My Russian and I spent 5 days touring this ancient place. Despite our short stay, we managed to squeeze in quite a bit from exploring Yerevan, Armenia’s capital city, visiting the healing hot springs of Jermuk, lunching in the seaside town of Sevan and attending a traditional Armenian wedding.

I knew very little about Armenia before our trip, but thanks to our friend Edik who was also our guide throughout most of the trip, I learned a lot along the way. He also dropped several fun facts on us that enhanced my experience and now I’m excited to share them with you! Below are 20 fun facts about Armenia to know before you go.

1. Armenia’s capital, Yerevan, is known as the “pink city” because of the pink stones used in many of its buildings. It was pretty foggy during our stay, so the stones didn’t have the same glow as they would on a sunny day, but you can sort of see the pinkish hues in the cover photo above. ......
