The beautiful colonial town of San Cristobal de las Casas in Chiapas, though small, has several nice cafés to work from as a digital nomad. Be warned though, due to its altitude of 2,200 meters above sea level and its location surrounded by mountains, the town is quite cold at night and most places have no heating and also leave their front doors open all the time, so working in any of these cafés in the morning, it’s likely to be a bit chilly! During the day though, it warms up considerably.

Probably our favourite café to work from in San Cristobal de las Casas, this place has a lot going for it. Set inside the small but super hipster complex of boutique shops, art studios cafés and restaurants, Esquina San Agustin, it’s fully indoors meaning it’s probably the warmest place to work in the mornings. The staff are friendly and they do a pretty mean hot chocolate made from local cocoa. Their wifi is some of the fastest we found in town and as a bonus they have free drinking water. ......
