The Vienna Coffeehouse Guide Pt. 2

The Vienna Coffeehouse Guide Pt. 2, Vienna, Austria (B)

So while I showed you a few of the big names of the Viennese coffeehouse scene in part 1, I’m continuing with some of my personal favourites hereafter. Again, the coziness factor of these cafés will make you stay longer than planned, so if you’re in a rush, you’re at the wrong place. And if you’re in that unlucky situation right now that you don’t have a Viennese coffeehouse nearby, I’d recommend to grab your favourite bean juice, sit back and let me take you virtually through this little tour

An absolute gem near Vienna’s busiest shopping street Mariahilferstrasse is Café Jelinek that luckily feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle. The interior is so vintage and shabby (and it’s real, not that fake shabbiness) that it’s cult: The wallpaper soaked up decades of smoke (when it used to be smoking inside) and god knows what it has seen… and the ancient stove certainly adds up to the coziness – and honestly – it’s so authentic that you just have to fall in love with this place. It’s popular for breakfast and evening drinks alike and I wouldn’t be surprised if this café saved a few people from their winter depressions. – http://cafejelinek.steman.at/cafe-jelinek/ ......
