Casa del Carnaval (Carnival House), Santa Cruz de Tenerife
The Carnival House opened its doors in June 2017 as a celebratory tribute to the city’s carnival heritage. Here, you’ll find a permanent exhibition hall showcasing costumes worn by Carnival Queens and performers - a luxurious tapestry of feathers, sequins and craftsmanship.
The House offers interactive video walls, touchscreens, and virtual reality displays to discover how the festival has changed over time, from its origins and challenges to its current lively celebrations. In the adaptable “Sala Suspi,” temporary exhibits and displays spotlight different themes, creators, and performers from the carnival scene.
Visitors to the museum can explore a costume and makeup workshop, try on select carnival outfits and accessories for a souvenir photo, and browse a shop featuring themed merchandise.
