Park Tower, Tampa
Located in the heart of downtown Tampa, Park Tower (formerly the Lykes Building) is a skyscraper that has become a recognizable landmark in the area. Standing at 460 feet (140 m) with 36 stories, it was the first high-rise tower in Tampa upon its completion in November 1973 and was the tallest building in Florida at that time. Today, it is the sixth-tallest building in Tampa and is situated across from various popular attractions, such as The Tampa Riverwalk, Hillsborough River, and Curtis Hixon and Gaslight Parks.
Park Tower underwent a multi-million-dollar renovation in 2019. The renovation included modernizing the office building's façade by painting the exterior a lighter color and upgrading the main entrance. The updated design was created by internationally renowned architect Arthur Gensler.
Park Tower has a rich history, as it was originally home to The First National Bank of Tampa, later the First National Bank of Florida (First Florida Corporation), and served as the headquarters of the Lykes Brothers Corporation.
Park Tower's amenities include a fitness center, conference room, tenant lounge, and a Buddy Brew Coffee café. The building also features various businesses, such as FedEx Office, U.S. Post Office, Grow Financial Credit Union, Pearl Salon, and Nature's Table Café.
