Naval Academy Jewish Chapel, Annapolis

The Commodore Uriah P. Levy Center and Jewish Chapel is a Jewish chapel on the campus of the US Naval Academy. It is quite a young building, constructed in 2003, under the design of Maryland architect Joseph Boggs. The entrance of the building is designed according to the model of Thomas Jefferson's home at Monticello, Virginia, USA. The chapel features a 45- foot high wall made of Jerusalem stone, which is actually a replica of Jerusalem's Western Wall. Notwithstanding its young age, the chapel has already won an award by the Maryland AIA Honor Awards in 2006, as the Public Building of the Year.
