Wohnturm, Vienna

Nestled in the heart of Vienna, the SEG Wohnturm stands as a remarkable testament to modern architectural excellence. This remarkable residential edifice, which began construction in 1996 and reached its completion in 1998, serves as a brilliant embodiment of contemporary style and design.

The SEG Wohnturm, located in Vienna's 22nd district of Donaustadt, was envisioned by Viennese architects Coop Himmelblau. The building boasts a height of 82 meters, with an observation deck positioned at a height of 60 meters. When considering its antenna, the tower soars to an impressive height of 90 meters.

A notable feature of the tower is its double facade, which maintains a consistent internal temperature and air quality. During the development of the building, meticulous attention was paid to achieving all the criteria of a passive house. The 70 apartments within the building range in size from 55 square meters to 130 square meters, and it also houses medical practices.

One of its distinctive aspects is the sky lobby situated on the ninth floor, a spacious 350 square meters communal area. In recognition of its architectural merits, the tower was honored with the Austrian Builders' Prize by the Central Association of Austrian Architects in 1999.
