Enchanting and idyllic section of central Oslo characterized by impeccably maintained wooden residences dating back to the late 1700s and 1800s.

The wooden house serves as an emblematic dwelling in the Scandinavian nations. Constructed entirely from wood, including its walls and roof, these structures boast exceptional insulation against the elements. Typically spanning one or two stories, these houses are adorned in an array of vibrant hues. Gazing upon or inhabiting one of these homes readily transports individuals into the realms of fairytales.

Damstredet, a charming cobblestone lane, is graced by wooden dwellings originating from the first half of the 19th century. This quaint street meanders between Akersveien and Fredensborgveien, spanning a mere 160 meters in length.

Nestled between Maridalsveien and Akersveien, Telthusbakken rests just beneath the medieval marvel, Gamle Aker kirke. Adorning one side of the 260-meter avenue stand a succession of diminutive wooden abodes, while the opposite side unveils a vast allotment garden expanse known as Egebergløkka. Bordering these gardens, one can traverse the enchanting Kjærlighetsstien, or "The Love Trail."
