Glockenbachviertel Walking Tour, Munich

Glockenbachviertel Walking Tour (Self Guided), Munich

The Glockenbachviertel is a young, lively, eccentric and welcoming neighborhood in Isarvorstad, a borough located southeast of Munich's Old Town. Gentrification over recent years has turned it into a luxurious area with fabulous homes, small boutiques, bars, clubs and restaurants. The Glockenbachviertel hosts numerous art and cultural events and encompasses many galleries and craft shops.

One of the most interesting places for a shopping trip is Hans-Sachs-Straße. Within this picturesque residential area are historic rows of houses, trendy boutiques, art shops and pubs. Find many beautifully crafted pieces by artisans here, such as jewelry, unique souvenirs and stylish clothes.

The carefree and creative vibe and beautiful surroundings attract many members of the LGBT community, and the heart of Munich's gay and lesbian scene is located principally around the Müllerstraße.

During the day, go shopping in Glockenbachviertel’s delightful boutiques and stores, relax in a cozy café and stroll by the river. At night, ratchet up the pace by a few notches and party in the bars and clubs. No matter what time of day you come, you will find that the neighborhood is a friendly and fascinating place.
