C. Grimaldis Gallery, Baltimore

C. Grimaldis Gallery is a contemporary and modern art gallery located in Baltimore. Established in 1977 by Constantine Grimaldis, it is the longest continually operating gallery in the city. Initially focused on showcasing local and regional artists, the gallery soon began exhibiting important international artists, including Grace Hartigan, Elaine de Kooning, Alice Neel, Anne Truitt, and Sir Anthony Caro. Today, the gallery specializes in post-WWII American and European art with a particular emphasis on contemporary sculpture.

Representing approximately 40 nationally and internationally established artists, the gallery has been responsible for launching and sustaining the careers of many artists from the United States and abroad. It has exhibited works by major names in the art world, including John Baldessari, Willem de Kooning, Robert Rauschenberg, Richard Serra, Joel Shapiro, and John Waters. Alongside these more established artists, the gallery promotes younger artists such as Chul Hyun Ahn, Beverly McIver, Jae Ko, and John Ruppert.

In addition to its regular gallery program, C. Grimaldis Gallery participates in an average of six national and international art fairs annually, including Art Miami, Palm Beach 3, Art Chicago, Art Athina, and the Houston Fine Art Fair. The gallery's commitment to showcasing the work of its artists extends to producing scholarly catalogues for both solo exhibitions and important group shows. It also regularly hosts lectures and discussions about art and artists as part of its public programming.

The gallery represents the estates of Grace Hartigan and Eugene Leake, among others. Its selective roster of artists and commitment to curatorial excellence have earned it a reputation as one of Baltimore's most important contemporary art galleries.
