Palm Beach Opera, West Palm Beach

Palm Beach Opera is a professional opera company with a history dating to 1961, when it was founded as the Civic Opera of the Palm Beaches. Its first production, La traviata, was performed in January 1962. Over more than six decades, the organization has developed into a major regional opera company, presenting established works from the international repertoire alongside concerts, recitals, and special events.

Mainstage productions bring together internationally known singers, the Palm Beach Opera Orchestra, and the Palm Beach Opera Chorus. Performances are supported by theatrical sets, costumes, lighting, and staging that combine music with visual storytelling. Its production archive includes works such as Tosca, Norma, The Marriage of Figaro, La traviata, and Roméo et Juliette, illustrating the range of composers and operatic traditions represented by the company.

Palm Beach Opera also supports the development of young singers through artist-training programs and educational activities. Programs include coaching, masterclasses, school performances, and rehearsal opportunities. Visitors may also attend talks and resident-artist events.
